C: Ethical Dimensions and Citizenship (C) - 3 credits*
Examples:
American government; community organizations; ethics; peace studies; moral
issues; introduction to criminal justice.
E: Written Communication (E) - 6 credits*
English Composition - 6 credits; Composition and Literature - 6 credits
G: Global Society (G) - 3 credits*
Examples:
World history; international political science; international business.
H: Historical Development (H) 3 credits*
Any subject area that
includes the historical development of the discipline(s)
I: Relationship to Groups and Communities (I) - 3 credits*
Relationships of individuals to groups and communities. Examples: Anthropology,
Human/Cultural Geography, Introduction to Communication, Introduction
to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology
Q: Analytic and Quantitative Reasoning and Data Interpretation (Q)
- 3 credits*
College-level mathematics
R: Research (R) - 3 credits*
Any subject that requires students to use research skills. The requirement can be met with Charter Oak's ENG 102A (1 Cr).
S: Scientific Process (S) - 4-6 credits*
Either one (1) 4-credit lab option or two (2)
3-credit options from the following examples of natural science subjects:
Biology; chemistry; physical science; environmental studies.
W: Western Civilization and Culture (W) - 3 credits*
Any
subject area which focuses on Western historical development within the
disciplines.
