Military Education
A college degree option for servicemembers on the move...
If frequent reassignment, duty in a remote location and ever-changing military schedules are barriers to you completing your college degree, Charter Oak State College offers a logical, convenient solution. You can earn credit for learning acquired through military service schools and experience evaluated by the American Council on Education. The College has no academic residency requirement and affords you the opportunity to gain maximum benefit from your prior learning experiences regardless of their age.
"Charter Oak State College has become one of the Mississippi National Guard Education Office's greatest assets. Because of their unique program, our servicemembers have been afforded the opportunity to pursue their goal of achieving an academic degree. In today's world of competing interests, the Charter Oak program allows adults learners the opportunity to participate in an environment that can be tailored to meet their particular needs. This individualized focused approach helps insure our servicemember's academic success."
Warrant Officer 1 Jeff Haycraft
Guidance Counselor/Acting Education Services Officer,
Florida National Guard
Charter Oak offers both Associate and Bachelor's degrees in general studies.
