Charter Oak is a member of the
Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges. We are also proud to partner with the Coast Guard Institute and Army National Guard Education Support Center to facilitate
degree completion for servicemembers and their spouses. Our military transfer counselor works with education officers to assist in the collection and submission of necessary documentation.
Army National Guard Education Support Center
If you or your spouse is a member of the Army National Guard, you may seek initial degree planning from the Army National Guard Education Support Center(ESC). The ESC is located at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Counselors at ESC will perform a preliminary evaluation of your existing credit as it applies to one of Charter Oak's general studies degrees. When you're ready to complete your degree, you will qualify for one of the College's partnership programs that offers reduced fees. You can submit your application directly to the College and have ESC submit your official transcripts and degree plan to Charter Oak to begin the process. If applicable, you will need to request your AARTS transcript and have it forwarded to Charter Oak. Upon completion of an official evaluation, Charter Oak will issue a SOC Student Agreement.
Coast Guard Institute
The Coast Guard Institute (CGI), located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, provides Coast Guard servicemembers and their spouses with a preliminary evaluation of college credit towards one of Charter Oak's general studies degrees. When you're approximately one year from degree completion, you can submit your application for admission to the College through CGI. Once received, CGI will forward the application and fee to Charter Oak along with your CGI transcript and degree plan to begin the process. Also, have all of the colleges you have attended submit official transcripts directly to Charter Oak. Upon completion of an official evaluation, Charter Oak will issue a SOC Student Agreement. When you're ready to complete your degree, you will qualify for one of the College's partnership programs that offers reduced fees.
"Charter Oak gave me an opportunity to consolidate my Military Career, college courses taken and my experience. This program was tailored for Military members like myself. Receiving my Bachelor's degree provided me personal satisfaction and continued success in today’s challenging and technical environment, including my current military assignment."
