Concentration - Music History
Essential competencies for a concentration in Music History are similar to those in Applied Music but with less emphasis on music-making (performance, conducting, composition, etc.) and more on the study of music through intellectual modes of inquiry. A minimum level of competency in musicianship is expected.
This concentration in the General Studies major can be completed by combining Charter Oak's online courses and other sources of credit such as credit transferred from regionally accredited institutions or testing. It cannot be completed solely through Charter Oak State College courses.
