Corporations, proprietary schools, and volunteer and community organizations and agencies may request review of their programs of instruction or courses of study through the Connecticut Credit Assessment Program (CCAP). CCAP reviews must be requested by the organization that offers the training. Students who wish to obtain credit based on knowledge they have gained through training programs should consider Charter Oak's Special Assessment or Prior Learning Portfolio programs.
Through the CCAP program, education and training offered in business or industry can be evaluated for possible credit by faculty from colleges and universities in Connecticut, under the auspices of Charter Oak State College and at the request of the sponsoring organization. Credit recommendations are based on faculty team reviews of course materials and instruction, not on contact hours alone.
Assessments have been completed on medical and health programs, computer training; civil service training, and more. Are your organization's courses or training programs eligible for CCAP review?
