The Early Childhood Education Cabinet, has entered into an agreement with Charter Oak State College to administer the ECERS Early Childhood Improvement Initiative.

The Early Childhood Education Cabinet, under Public Act 07-03, was authorized to establish minimum standards and a higher range of quality standards for early care and education programs receiving state funds.

ECERS-R: The Early Childhood Education Cabinet is providing funding for the administration of the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale – Revised (ECERS-R) through this project for all classrooms required to have an ECERS-R and for those classrooms that volunteer to participate.

Quality Improvement Funds: The Early Childhood Education Cabinet will provide funding for Quality Improvement for those classrooms participating in the ECERS-R project in accordance with established priorities.

All ECERS-R Raters are state approved and meet reliability standards. Raters are assigned to classrooms requiring or requesting the ECERS-R by the ECERS Project Coordinator at Charter Oak State College.
