Massive Open Online Course

The College recognizes four (4) methods by which students can pursue credit for learning obtained through a Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC:

  1. Students who have verifiably successfully completed a MOOC that has been recommended for credit by the American Council for Education (ACE), Connecticut Credit Assessment program (CCAP), or the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) should have their transcript sent to the Registrar's Office to be considered for credit.
  2. Students who have taken a MOOC from a regionally accredited college that awards college credit for the MOOC should have their transcript sent to the Registrar's Office.
  3. Students who have obtained college-level learning through a MOOC may take a standardized exam and have their transcript sent to the Registrar's Office to be considered for credit.
  4. Students who have obtained college-level learning through a MOOC may pursue the College's portfolio program to document their learning and submit a portfolio to be assessed for credit.
