Connecticut Director's Credential (CDC)

Through a unique collaboration between Charter Oak State College, Connecticut Charts-A-Course, the Department of Social Services, and the Hartford Area Child Care Collaborative, a conceptual framework for a Connecticut Director's Credential has been developed. The Connecticut Director's Credential (CDC) seeks to provide individuals a voluntary system of credentialing with four levels of proficiency issued through Charter Oak State College.

The Director's Credential will be awarded to those who have successfully met all the requirements necessary to obtain the credential at each level. The Credential will acknowledge that as a professional working in the field of early care and education, you have obtained knowledge and competencies in the Connecticut Core Areas of Knowledge for Directors.

Please note- Application for the CDC must be submitted prior to sending credentialing materials such as official transcripts to Charter Oak State College for review.

The Provisional Level of the CDC has expired as of January 1, 2009. New applications will be accepted for the Initial Level or higher.
