Excelsior offers 33 exams in topics ranging from 33 Basic Genetics to Principles of Marketing, Financial Accounting, English Composition, and Anatomy and Physiology among others. Exam fees range from $95 - $415 depending upon the credit awarded for successful completion. Practice exams are also available.

Charter Oak State College President Ed Klonoski said of the agreement, "We're excited to partner with Excelsior College. We recognize that our adult students are seeking ways to lower the cost of a college degree. Testing is one way to do that. This partnership with Excelsior allows us to maximize our exam offerings providing students with more options for earning accelerated and affordable college credits."

While Charter Oak has always accepted credit awarded from Excelsior's exams, this new agreement strengthens and emphasizes the College's commitment to working collaboratively to achieve savings for its students.

"We welcome the opportunity to work more closely with Charter Oak in providing alternative pathways to college credit," said Dr. John Ebersole, president of Excelsior College. "We have a mutual concern about holding down the cost of higher education and credit by examination is a very cost-effective way of accomplishing this. Both colleges serve a very similar student body so this new collaboration is in keeping with our respective missions."
