Land Surveying Certificate

The certificate in Land Surveying is designed for students with a background in land surveying who desire to advance their knowledge of the art and science of the profession and better prepare themselves for professional licensure. It is also designed to allow students with no land surveying experience to better transition into the profession. Most of the courses in this certificate must be taken at other institutions.

Certificate Requirements

Core Courses

Introduction to Surveying* 4 credits
Advanced Surveying* 3 credits
Introduction to CAD* 3 credits

Breadth Courses

Statistics (MAT 105) 3 credits
Legal Research and Writing (PLG 210) 3 credits
Introduction to GIS 3 credits
Introduction to GPS 3 upper level credits
Legal Aspects of Land Surveying (EGR 410)* 3 upper level credits
Total 15-25 credits

*Current CST Level 2 may be substituted for Introduction to Surveying.
Current CST Level 3 may be substituted for Intro. and Advanced Surveying.

Certificate programs are designed for adults who are interested in learning a specific set of skills and gaining knowledge in a certain area, but may not want to earn a degree. Credits earned apply toward a Charter Oak associate or baccalaureate degree.
