2008 Alumni Citation Award

The Charter Oak State College Alumni Association awards a citation annually to recognize the achievement of an outstanding alumni/age of the college. Citation winners are selected on the basis of exceptional accomplishments in a field of endeavor and loyalty to the college. Dan Cahill, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Charter Oak State College in 2003. For the past five years he has devoted time and energy to advancing the reputation of the College. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association for 3 years, two of which he was the President. He led the Association as they became involved in new endeavors. They sponsored a Degrees Without Boundaries 5 K Road Race for two consecutive years, raising both awareness and money for the College. He helped in the planning of our first ever Student/Alumni Art Exhibit transforming our conference room into beautiful art gallery, while recognizing the artistic achievements of our students and graduates. He is a talented photographer and has shared his gift by taking pictures at various events including the Student Reception held on the eve of graduation. In addition, he regularly contributes to the Charter Oak State College Foundation and makes certain to secure corporate dollars to match his monetary and volunteer donations. Above all, he shares his passion about Charter Oak State College to his friends, co-workers and everyone he meets.
