The Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership is designed to allow students to pursue graduate-level advanced studies in the subject area of nonprofit leadership, to manage a nonprofit organization, plan and implement fundraising initiatives, market and brand a nonprofit organization, effect organizational change, and create a mission and strategies that focus on creating beneficial social impact.

This certificate is 12 credits, 6 of which must be taken at Charter Oak. All courses must be completed with a grade of B or above.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who complete a Nonprofit Leadership certificate will be able to:

  1. assess and design learning communities, explain complexities of organizational design and structure, and construct organizational leadership strategies;
  2. develop strategies that support the advancement of an organization’s mission and formulate change strategies that support a continual changing landscape for nonprofit organizations; and
  3. apply various nonprofit fundraising principles and practices to accomplish the organization’s financial goals.
