Non-Credit Courses and Programs
Charter Oak offers non-credit courses in a variety of disciplines. At Charter Oak State College these programs and courses are geared toward professional development.
Non-credit programs and courses do not carry college credit and therefore cannot be used toward either the associate or bachelor degrees. All non-credit courses will receive a Pass (P) or Fail (F) grade, except for students in the Alternate Route to Certification (ARC) program. No grades (NG) will be submitted for students in ARC program. Tuition for non-credit courses varies. Information on the tuition for these courses can be found in the Fees section of the catalog. Payment plans are only available for students in our non-credit Alternate Route to Certification program.
Refunds
If a student drops a non-credit course before the start of the course, a full refund will be issued. On the first day of the course, and any day after, no refunds will issued. Course start dates can be found on the academic calendar each semester.
Charter Oak will abide by the College policy regarding students who are called to military and/or emergency service. Under extraordinary circumstances and with appropriate documentation, Charter Oak will refund 100% tuition or fees to students who are delayed or disrupted by their official/emergency duties from attending as scheduled.
