Foundation Announces Shea Lecture and Fundraiser date

The Charter Oak State College Foundation will host its biennial Shea Lecture and Fundraiser at The Mark Twain House on November 11 at 6 p.m.

The lecture begins at 6PM, is free to the public and will discuss Work and the Modern Family: Connecting the Dots. Panelists include Scott Cleary, President, SMC Partners, LLC; Michael Davis, Vice President of Taxes, Nestle USA, and Joelle Murchison, Vice President of Enterprise Diversity & Inclusion, Travelers. The moderator is Irene O'Connor, Anchor of WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News This Morning.

The Fundraiser portion of the evening, in support of scholarships for Charter Oak State College students, will immediately follow the lecture from 7PM to 9PM. A light buffet will be served and guided tours of The Mark Twain House will be offered. Tickets range from $75 - $150. Purchase tickets online.

Foundation Executive Director, Angela Chapman said, "We are thrilled to be able to award scholarships to deserving students working hard to finish their college degree while balancing life and work. We are inspired every day by these determined individuals."

The Shea lecture is supported by an endowment established in 1987 upon the retirement of Bernard D. Shea, Charter Oak's first President. The endowment enables the College to sponsor programs which further our mission to engage students in lifelong learning.
