Charter Oak Celebrates 40th Anniversary with November 14 Fundraiser

College's Foundation to Host Shea Lecture: Health Care: The Next 40 Years

Charter Oak State College will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a celebration and fundraiser at The Mark Twain House on November 14 at 7 p.m. The celebration will be preceded at 6 p.m. by the Charter Oak State College Foundation's Shea Lecture, Health Care: The Next 40 Years. The Shea Lecture is free and open to the public.

Ed Klonoski, President, Charter Oak State College said, "It's our honor to recognize the impact that the College and individuals associated with it have had on countless adults who have received degrees from Charter Oak State College over the past 40 years."

The 40th Anniversary celebration will highlight the history of the college and its future. Net proceeds from the event will be used to support the mission and vision of the college and health care scholarships will be awarded to selected students at the event. A light buffet will be served and guided tours of The Mark Twain House will be offered. Tickets range from $75 - $150. Tickets can be purchased online via the Charter Oak State College Foundation. Sponsors include Simsbury Bank and Hartford Hospital - A Hartford HealthCare Partner.

The Shea lecture, held in honor of the College's first president Bernard Shea, is free and open to the public. Panelists include Mickey Herbert, Health Care consultant and former president & CEO of ConnectiCare; Kimberly Beauregard, President & CEO, InterCommunity, Inc., and Joseph J. Klimek, MD, Vice President, Physician Relations for Hartford Hospital Administration. The moderator is Rebecca Stewart, Director of Media Relations, Hartford HealthCare & Hartford Hospital.
