Get Microsoft Office 365 for Free!
As an active Charter Oak State College student or faculty member, you can download and install Microsoft Office 365 on your personal computer at no cost. This includes popular apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and Outlook—everything you need to stay productive and connected.

Training resources for Office 365 Online & Office Downloads
Your Office applications will be available both over the web or through installation to your device.
Please follow these steps to download/install the Microsoft apps on your device:
- Go to Microsoft 365 Apps and login to that site with your Charter Oak student credentials.
- On the Apps page, you should see a button in the upper-right that is labeled "Install apps". Click on that and select the first option - Microsoft 365 apps. Follow any security prompts that you may get in the upcoming steps.
- You will then be sent to a page with several options on the screen (under a "My Account" tab on the left.) Select "Install Office" in the "Office apps & devices" section. You will be prompted to download the installer.
- Follow installation steps from there.
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application developed by Microsoft that allows users to organize, analyze, and visualize data. It provides tools for performing calculations, creating charts, and managing large datasets through features like formulas, pivot tables, and conditional formatting. Excel is widely used for tasks such as financial analysis, reporting, and data modeling across various industries.
