Course Description
In this module, ARC candidates are required to complete the 140-hour internship experience to broaden their exposure to a variety of certified, early childhood settings. Candidates will also be observed in their place of employment by a skilled observer to demonstrate their teaching skills at a developing level. Additionally, candidates will complete and submit the teacher performance assessment, edTPA. Students complete Key Assessment 2, 4, 5 and 7 while enrolled in this module. Formerly titled: Internship Assessments (Spring & Summer)
Prerequisites
- Acceptance into the program.
- Completion of ARC 004 with a passing grade.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate developing teaching practices by incorporating feedback while being observed in an early childhood setting.
- Understand the developmental period of early childhood across multiple contexts.
- Collaborate as partners with families in young children’s development and learning through shared resources, respectful reciprocal relationships, and engagement.
- Develop and sustain reflective and intentional practices in work with young children and as members of the early childhood profession.
- Use assessment tools to document developmental progress and promote positive outcomes for each child.
