Course Description
This course will focus on the advanced planning, implementation, and evaluation necessary for successful implementation of differentiated instruction. Students will engage with research-based differentiated instructional strategies that support successful learning experiences for all students. Emphasis will be on differentiating content, process, and products based on student readiness, interest, and learning profile. Preparing students and parents for a differentiated classroom and applying keystone strategies will be an important focus. Through applied learning experiences and critical analysis, students will construct and apply rigorous lessons that demonstrate understanding of the key elements of differentiated instruction and responsiveness to student diversity. Requirement: Field Experience in a Learning Environment Hours: 5 hours. (3 credits)

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Analyze how learning theory research informs effective differentiated instruction.
- Design, implement, and assess lessons that differentiate learning content, process, and products based on student readiness, interest, and learning profile.
- Apply differentiated instructional strategies that support the learning needs of diverse students.
- Embed digital tools and other resources into differentiated instruction content, process and product.
- Evaluate and use assessment data to determine the best use of differentiated instruction.
- Construct a comprehensive differentiated instruction project that includes content, process and product, considerations for student and parental involvement, and project evaluation.
