Course Description
Cloud Foundations is intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. (3 credits)

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Define what cloud computing is and its advantages over traditional on-premises computing.
- Identify core AWS services, such as computing (EC2, Lambda), storage (S3, EBS), databases (RDS, DynamoDB), and networking (VPC, Route 53).
- Describe the AWS global infrastructure, including regions, availability zones, and edge locations.
- Use AWS Billing and Cost Management tools to monitor and optimize costs.
- Explore basic security services and practices in AWS, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and compliance.
- Demonstrate how to deploy a simple application or workload on AWS using basic services.
- Use AWS tools for monitoring (e.g., CloudWatch) and logging (e.g., CloudTrail).
- Identify common use cases for cloud computing and AWS in various industries.
