Course Description

Respiratory Pathophysiology and Disease Management (3 credits, lower division level)
This exam provides proof of knowledge of respiratory pathophysiology, assessment of respiratory distress, patient educational strategies including medication dosages and administration techniques. Acute versus chronic respiratory disease, signs and symptoms of disease are presented. The successful student must employ recall, application and analysis of topics. Therefore, the preparation necessary for successful exam completion shows a knowledge base equivalent to a three credit hour human biology elective course focused on respiratory function, pathology and treatment options.
