About the Program
The Mohegan Sun Practical English Program is a four-week course of study designed for international college age students who have English language proficiency at the intermediate-high and advanced speaking levels. The goal of the program is to ensure that students will be able to identify and use language needed to succeed in a service company environment as well as to demonstrate understanding of Mohegan Sun's corporate culture and the broader American culture.

Practical English Skills (1 credit, lower division level)
The goal of this course is to immerse the student in American culture and Mohegan Sun's company culture. It presents a diverse set of cultural and professional situations in America and helps to prepare students to study at an American university after the conclusion of the program, if they choose. Classroom instruction is accomplished through a combination of lecture, discussion, class assignments including journals, and a capstone project. In addition to classroom hours, students also rotate through various departments (e.g., casino, food service, accounting) to observe typical Mohegan Sun casino operations.
