Estimated Full-Time Estimated Cost of Attendance Budgets for Financial Aid Undergraduate and Graduate Students

The estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) budget is a resource that can assist students and their families with planning and budgeting for a Charter Oak State College education.
COA budgets are used by the Office of Financial Aid to determine the maximum amount of financial aid that a student is eligible to receive. Students are assigned a budget based on their cost of attendance which includes degree applicable credit hours for which a student is enrolled and other educational costs (direct and in-direct expenses).
The Office of Financial Aid calculates educational expenses based on anticipated or actual enrollment (if the student has registered for classes). The total COA budget includes both direct and indirect costs. Direct costs include tuition and fees. Indirect costs such as books and supplies, living allowances, miscellaneous expenses, and transportation are not payable to Charter Oak and, therefore are not billed (charged) to the student. Indirect costs are based on national “averages” of educational expenses.
The following is a list of annual estimated COA budgets for full-time students, who are either in-state or out-of-state, and enrolled in Term 1 and Term 2 classes. A full-time undergraduate student is one who is enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
