Earth Science

ESC 111 - Earth Science (3 credits)

This course will focus on the study of earth as a self-interacting system of a rock and metal interior and surface (geology), surface oceans (oceanography), atmosphere (meteorology), and its place in the solar system (astronomy).

ESC 120 - Astronomy (3 credits)

This course will focus on an introduction to astronomy for non-science majors. Topics covered include the night sky, light and telescopes, the solar system, the lives of stars, and the origin and structure of the universe. To be successful in this course, students should have competency in solving algebraic formulas. Recommended Prerequisite(s): High school algebra.

ESC 121 - Astronomy Lab (1 credits)

This icouese will focus on an algebra-based astronomy experience for non-science majors. To be successful in this course, students should have competency in solving algebraic formulas. Recommended Prerequisite(s): High school algebra and ESC 120 (may be taken concurrently).
